Cindy MacRitchie, Owner
Cynthia MacRitchie founded Keeping the Balance in 2007, and has since helped more than 100 small business clients bring balance to their financials and their lives. Cynthia is a Certified QuickBooks Pro Advisor and professional Bookkeeper with more than 20 years of experience in bookkeeping, IT, and customer service. She specializes in working with small businesses (fewer than 20 employees), especially in the retail, professional services, legal and construction industries.
Prior to founding Keeping the Balance, Cynthia served as the staff bookkeeper for several well respected accounting firms including Hobson, Bishoff & Dowdy, PLLC, in Tampa and Wathen Accounting in Temple Terrace.
As a long-time Tampa resident, Cynthia does volunteer work for several community organizations including Hands On Tampa Bay. Her personal interests include gardening, stained glass crafting, quilting, and bowling.

Laura Quade, Office Manager/Bookkeeper
Laura began employment at Keeping the Balance in October of 2017. She has a Bachelor’s of Science in Business Administration from Ambassador University. After being a Certified Legal Assistant for five years and a stay-at-home mom for over seventeen years, Laura has started a new chapter in bookkeeping . Her duties include maintaining clients’ financials on a monthly and quarterly basis, processing client payrolls along with making payroll tax payments, filing sales tax returns, and general office management. Laura is married with three daughters and enjoys writing, reading, music, running, yoga, and playing volleyball.
Sheila Vega, Bookkeeper
Sheila began employment at Keeping the Balance in April of 2019. She has a Bachelor’s Degree in Communication from Notre Dame College and a Master’s Degree in Organizational Communication from Cleveland State University. She worked as a subcontractor with IBM before starting her family. Sheila is married with one son and two daughters. Her duties include maintaining clients’ financials on a monthly and quarterly basis, processing client payrolls, and filing sales tax returns. Outside of work, She enjoys running, yoga, reading, music, and volunteer work through her church and the community.
Lauren Heinsch, Bookkeeper
Lauren began employment at Keeping the Balance in October of 2019. Her duties include maintaining clients’ financials on a monthly and quarterly basis.
Amanda Peak, Administrative Assistant/Bookkeeper
Amanda began employment at Keeping the Balance in January of 2021. Her duties include handling typical administrative tasks in addition to processing client payrolls and maintaining clients’ financials on a monthly and quarterly basis.
